The Moroccan bath — hammam — is a cleansing ritual rather than a massage. You begin in warm steam that softens the skin, after which the therapist applies traditional black soap made from olives and leaves it to work.
The exfoliation that follows uses a kessa glove to lift away dead skin, and it is genuinely thorough: most guests are surprised at the difference on the first visit. A rinse, a mask and a light moisturising finish complete the ritual. Skin feels smoother and looks brighter straight away.

You begin in the warm, steam-filled wet room so the skin softens and the pores open.

How often should I have a Moroccan bath?
Once every three to four weeks suits most skin. More frequently than that and you risk stripping the skin rather than refreshing it.
Is the exfoliation uncomfortable?
It is firm but should never hurt. The kessa glove is used with steady pressure; tell your therapist if you would prefer it lighter, particularly on sensitive areas.
Should I book a massage as well?
Many guests pair the Moroccan bath with a 60-minute oil massage afterwards. The skin is warm and the muscles relaxed by then, so the two work well together.
What should I bring?
Nothing — disposable underwear, towels and toiletries are provided. Avoid shaving on the day of your appointment.
